Here are Lions and Dragons – that railway

The classical phrase utilized by ancient Roman and Medieval cartographers used to be HIC SVNT LEONES (literally, Here are lions) when denoting unknown territories on maps.

Allow me to share with you …

When I was still very young I used to picture life on the other side of ‘that railway’, past lions and wild dragons. Strange – that railway…..! The metal sound was ever present in my young mind.

Many people lost their most precious belongings passing through the subway to get to the other side – past the ‘Lions’. Some even lost their lives or loved ones through thugs (‘LIONS’). What a gripping thought –  those who ventured through the subway daily to provide for families.

As happens in life … I made it through the subway only to find the true meaning of ‘that railway’. If you Venture beyond the metal barrier of electrical wires and fast moving trains you will come face to face with  ‘LIONS’ and ‘DRAGONS’.

NEVER EVER LOOSE YOUR FOCUS FOR YOU NEVER KNOW IF YOU SHOULD BE HUNTING WITH LIONS OR FLYING WITH DRAGONS!
